Lyonheart K Luxury Sports Car

It’s been over a year since anybody has heard anything new about the Jaguar E Type-based Lyonheart K stunner. Fortunately, the Coventry-based manufacturer is back with fresh news about their very good looking ride. Apparently they will offer two variants of the Lyonheart K – convertible and coupe

Inspired by the 1960s’ E Class, the sports car features an aluminum multilink chassis and it was engineered as well as built by Envisage Group, UK. The design concept belongs to Bo Zolland and Robert Palm, founder of Classic Factory in Switzerland. Since the first appearance of the car back in 2012, some specifications have been changed for extra appeal.

These include 17 extra bhp, up from 550 bhp, and a torque of 516 lb-ft. The supercharged, 5.0-liter V8 engine can push the luxury runner to a top speed of 186 mph, while the 0-62 mph time is under 4 seconds. Depending on the body type and specifications that the client needs, the sultry Lyonheart K can be delivered to its buyer in 18-24 months.

Apparently only 250 units are scheduled for production for quite a long period of time: from December 2013 until summer 2015. The very exclusive vehicle will boast a quite prohibitive price as well: €360,000 (approx. $463,000) for the coupe version, and €375,000 ($483,000) for the convertible. Half of all units will be sold across Europe, 30 percent in China, and the remaining 20 percent in the Middle East. Looks like there is nothing for the US market just yet.

Hotel de Sers - Paris Hotel

Hôtel de Sers in Paris exemplifies a building that fits magnificently in its new role as a hotel because the current owners’ expensive and extensive renovation retained the initial feel and the structural bones of the original mansion, and managed to insert today’s touches in a way that does not feel like a pretentious afterthought.

Today, Hôtel de Sers has 45 rooms, four junior suites, two large suites with terraces that overlook all of the splendor of Paris, and one 80-square-meter apartment. The original building was a four-storey mansion designed by architect Jules Pellechet in 1880 for Henri-Leopold Charles, the Marquis de Sers.

In the early 1900s, the building served as a medical facility and gained four more floors and a six-storey attachment. It has been a hotel since 1935. In 1999, the Vidalenc family took over the building that was then known as Hôtel le Queen Elizabeth, and the family's younger son, Thibault Vidalenc, became the general manager. He engaged his cousin, recently graduated architect Thomas Vidalenc, and together the two began the 11 million Euro transformation of the old mansion into the chic and desirable Hôtel de Sers it is today.

Thomas Vidalenc designed most of the furniture as well, and added the latest comforts, technology and amenities to the rooms, but the new never overpowers the French classical elements.

The designer touches -- such as modern, sculptural occasional tables, and chairs and cushions covered in retro-floral fabrics -- add a Scandinavian, modernist feel, but it all seems to somehow belong in this environment that is resplendent with gold, and old paintings and red velvet. Not an easy balance to achieve.- Eric J.R. Engelen

Bentley Continental GT by DMC

Improved in every single way by DMC, this stunning Bentley Continental GT looks so much better than the stock model! Even though there are some noteworthy changes in the engine department as well, the first thing that struck us first was the new body kit, which boastsnew carbon fiber elements.

The body package flaunts all-new bumpers, modified side skirts, a rear wing and a diffuser, as well as 22-inch diamond-forged alloy wheels with new 295/25/22 tires. There are no photos of the interior, but we expect it to be customizable, the buyers enjoying a range of premium leather, exotic woods, and carbon fiber optional features.

And finally, the tuned GT’s hood hides another series of improvements. After an ECU remap, a new titanium exhaust, and new high-flow air filter, the engine roars with 672 HP and 575 lb-ft of torque. This means that the 0-60 mph acceleration time is of only 4.5 seconds, while the top speed is 202 mph. Not bad at all! Thank you, DMC!

Penthouse in Monaco will be the world’s most expensive

Monaco is a city that is luxury and class personified and also a playground for the world’s rich, famous and uber elite; especially famous for its yacht shows. Hence it is no surprise that it will house the world’s most expensive property per square metre. The penthouse in question will come onto the market next year, will be a part of the 170m Odeon Tower which will be the Mediterranean coastline’s second tallest building. The twin towers boasts of 70 luxury apartments with one to six bedrooms. The highlight though will be the 3,300 sq metre multi-story penthouse replete with a private water slide and exclusive infinity pool. The estimated value of the penthouse which is toted to be the world’s most expensive is 295.168.550Euro($388 million).

Prominent names are involved in completion of this project; architect Alexander Giraldi is spearheading the venture, the Alberto Pinto agency is handling the interiors and the grounds are being done up by landscape architect Jean Mus.

Promising a visual delight, every lavish Odeon Tower apartment will have floor-to-ceiling windows and private terraces with panoramic views of Monaco, Larvotto beach and the Ligurian Sea. Russian and Turkish saunas, swimming pools, private spas, full-time concierge, private chauffeured limousines and a cinema will give it the ultimate dose of luxury.

The project’s construction began in 2009 and is slated for a July 2014 completion.
